Quaker Oats Chocolate Oat-Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) Margarine (or butter, softened)
  • 1 and 1/4 cups Brown Sugar (firmly packed)
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 tbsp Milk
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 and 3/4 cups Flour (All Purpose)
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt (optional)
  • 2 and 1/2 cups Quaker Oats (quick or old fashioned)
  • 12 oz Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips (about 2 cups)
  • 1 cup Nuts (optional, coarsly chopped)

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1: 

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Step 2:

Beat margarine and sugars until creamy. Add eggs, milk and vanilla; beat well.

Step 3:

Add flour, baking soda and salt; mix well.

Step 4:

Stir in oats, chocolate morsels and nuts; mix well.

Step 5:

Drop by rounded measuring tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 9 to 10 minutes for a chewy cookie or 12 – 13 minutes for a crisp cookie.

Step 6:

Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack. Cool completely. Makes about 5 dozen.
