A Christmas cookie classic! They are best after they sit for a few days, so the flavor really develops. To this day I still love to have one of these with my coffee in the mornings during the holidays!
Ingredients
- 10 cups Flour
- 2 cups Sugar
- 2 cups Crisco
- 2 sticks Margarine
- 6 Eggs
- 1/2 cup Baking Powder
- 2 oz Vanilla Extract
- 4 oz Milk
- 1 lb Sesame Seeds (soaked and drained)
- Olive Oil (to coat cookies during prep)
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2:
Cream the following: butter, sugar, Crisco, eggs, vanilla and milk.
Step 3:
Add flour and baking powder.
Step 4:
Set up two stations, a wet station and a dry station. It is best to have two people for this. Setup a large plate or bowl and put some of the sesame seeds on it. These will be used by the “dry” person. Have the “wet” person roll a small log of cookie dough that is about 2 to 2 1/2 inches long and about 3/4 inch in diameter. Then lightly roll it in oil and place it on the bowl/plate full of sesame seeds. The “dry” person then rolls the log in the seeds to completely cover it, and transfers it to an ungreased cookie sheet.
Step 5:
Bake 350 degrees 18 – 20 min.
Step 6:
This recipe makes a massive amount of cookies. You can half the recipe by cutting the amount of each ingredient in half.
