Anise Pizzelles

Ingredients

  • 3 and 1/2 cups Flour
  • 1 and 1/2 cups Sugar
  • 1 cup Butter (melted)
  • 4 tsp Baking Powder
  • 6 Eggs
  • 1 oz Anise Extract
  • 1/2 tsp Lemon Extract

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1: 

Preheat 5-inch pizzelle iron according to manufacturer’s directions.

Step 2:

In large bowl of electric mixer, at low speed, beat all ingredients until well blended.

Step 3:

Spoon a heaping tablespoonful of mixture onto center of pizzelle iron (or use amount recommended by manufacturer); cover and bake until golden brown, about 30 seconds.

Step 4:

Lift cover; with fork, carefully loosen pizzelle. Place on wire rack to cool. Repeat with remaining batter. Makes about 4 and 1/2 dozen.
