Pound Cake

By: Lucy Romano • In: Desserts and Baking • Cuisine: American

This is Grandma Lucy’s original pound cake recipe.  For years, we would go over to her house after dinner.  She would always serve espresso with this pound cake.

Ingredients

  • 20 oz Presto Cake Mix
  • 10 Eggs
  • 3 cups Sugar
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 lb Crisco
  • 10 drops Yellow Food Coloring

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1:

Place all ingredients into a mixing bowl. Mix with a stand mixer or hand mixer for 20 minutes at a setting for mixing.

Step 3:

Pour into a large rectangle baking pan greased and flowered (12 x 18) and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or longer depending on oven. There should be a light brown coating on top.
