Pineapple Upside Down Cake

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup Crisco
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 and 1/4 cups Flour (sifted)
  • 1/2 cup Pineapple Juice
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 5 slices Pineapple

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1: 

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2:

Blend Crisco, salt and vanilla; Add sugar gradually and cream well.

Step 3:

Add egg and beat well.

Step 4:

Sift baking power with flour and add to creamed mixture alternately with pineapple juice mixing well.

Step 5:

Sprinkle brown sugar on the bottom of a baking dish and place pineapple slices on top of the sugar. Pour batter over the pineapple slices and bake in oven at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.
