Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb Ground Pork (lean)
  • 6 Shrimp (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 can Water Chestnuts (finely chopped)
  • 4 to 5 Green Onions (finely chopped)
  • 2 to 3 stalks Celery (finely chopped)
  • 8 Mushrooms (finely chopped)
  • handful Bean Sprouts (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 tsp Ginger (ground)
  • 1 tsp Soy Sauce (enough to hold together – not to be runny)
  • 1 Egg
  • Wonton Wraps (square, also sold as wonton skins)

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1:

In small mixing bowl combine all the ingredients and mix well.

Step 2:

To fill wontons, position wonton wrap/skin with one point toward you. Spoon 1 tsp. of filling just off center, onto wrap. Fold bottom point of wonton over the filling, tucking the point under the filling. Roll once to cover filling, leaving about 1 inch unrolled at the top of the wrap. Moisten one side of the wrap with water. Grasp each side of the wrap; bring together and overlap. Press firmly to seal. Repeat with remaining wraps and filling.

Step 3:

Deep fry wontons, a few at a time, in hot oil (365°) until golden. Drain on paper toweling. Serve warm.
