Spaghetti Bolognese

By: Dominick Romano • In: Entrees • Cuisine: Italian

This was one of the recipes given to us by our family in Australia when they were visiting us in the United States.

Ingredients

  • 14 oz Minced Beef (lean)
  • 14 oz Tomatoes (canned, peeled)
  • 11 oz Spaghetti
  • 1 Onion (diced)
  • 1 Chili Pepper (optional)
  • Tomato Puree
  • Beef Stock
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt
  • Parmesan Cheese (grated)
  • Cherry Tomatoes (garnish)
  • Basil (garnish)

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1:

Break Minced Beef down into small chunks, and brown in a large pan with a little Olive Oil.

Step 2:

Add the Onion to the Beef and let it brown, before adding the Chilli and putting a lid on the pan. Leave for 5 minutes.

Step 3:

Remove lid, stir and add the canned Tomatoes, Beef Stock and Tomato Puree. Replace lid and turn heat to low.

Step 4:

Boil a pot of water, with a little Salt and Olive Oil. Add Spaghetti and turn down the heat to a simmer. Leave until the Spaghetti is soft and cooked.

Step 5:

Drain the boiling water and serve the Spaghetti on a plate, then add sauce on top and sprinkle with Parmesan Cheese. Garnish with Cherry Tomatoes and Basil.
