sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>While the cake is fantastic the story behind the name is even better.<\/p>\n<p>In 1977 we had family visiting from Italy.\u00a0 They were staying at Grandma Lucy\u2019s house, which was close to us.\u00a0 My mother decided to bake a cake to bring over that evening to have with coffee after dinner.\u00a0 I remember her being busy that day but she scrambled that afternoon to make the cake.\u00a0 It looked and smelled delicious sitting on the table in the kitchen.<\/p>\n<p>We all went upstairs to clean up and get ready to go over to my grandmother\u2019s house.\u00a0 \u00a0While I was getting dressed I hear my mother screaming from downstairs.\u00a0 We all ran down to see what had happened.\u00a0 Sitting there on the table was a half eaten cake and our dog Shannon cowering in the corner as my mother screamed at her.\u00a0 \u00a0 Somehow Shannon had gotten up onto the kitchen table and had thoroughly enjoyed that cake.\u00a0 In time the incident became a big family joke\u2026\u2026 but my mother didn\u2019t think it was very funny that night.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row admin_label=&#8221;Ingredients Row&#8221;
