1 cup Brown Sugar

12 oz. Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips

1 cup Walnutschopped (substitute with any nut of your choice)

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. |

Arrange saltines in a single layer in the bottom of a 19 x 14 rimmed cookie sheet (approx.) lined with aluminum foil. |

In a sauce pan, combine butter and brown sugar over low/medium heat and boil gently for 3 min. I do about 5 min. so it’s easier to crack. |

Immediately pour over the crackers, covering all (and rearranging – careful, hot! – the crackers if they move while you are pouring). |

Bake at 400 degrees for 7 minutes (WATCH FOR BURNING). |

Take out of oven and sprinkle chips over surface right away. |

Let stand for 3 minutes or so until the chips soften, and then spread them with a spatula. |

Add chopped nuts and press lightly. |

Set aside in refrigerator (or freezer) to harden. |

Break into irregularly shaped pieces (or drive yourself crazy trying to cut these babies into rectangles). Store in refrigerator and serve cold. |
